Technical FAQ
RM coil formers are compact winding bodies for rectangular modular ferrite core geometries. They are suitable for pulse transformers, storage chokes, filters and DC/DC converter applications.
RM standard height versions provide the classic RM geometry, while RM-LP low-profile versions support reduced installation height for compact electronic assemblies.
Depending on the RM variant, NORWE uses PET rtg natural, PA66 p6g, PA66 A3XG10, PBT pcg, PPS torA504 and special materials such as radiation cross-linked thermoplastics on request.
Most RM variants support short-term soldering temperatures up to +350°C for up to 2 seconds. The RM power transformer 45° PPS variant supports up to +300°C for up to 2 seconds.
h-pins are used for radial winding and strain-relieved winding of thin wires and strands. z-pins support conventional winding and space-saving installation on the printed circuit board.
Yes. Special RM designs can support fully automatic winding and soldering, including bifilar winding concepts and up to 12 to 32 connection contacts depending on execution.
