NORWE presents the following new products to the international expert visitors, supplementing its wide coilformer programme:

EE 16 and EE 20 Coilformers SMD 2

The surface mountable components are market-driven enlarged with two additional large volume orientated sizes - EE 16 and EE 20. The coilformers have solid U-shaped terminals. Separate winding on and soldering pcb-sides allow automatic winding and soldering of the wires.

Wetting of the contact area to the pcb with tin in the process is excluded. Available are single and double section versions. For automatic assembling of EE SMD transformers Pick and Place caps which fit to the top of the flanges of the coilformers are suitable. Available are single and double section versions.

EE 16 SMD2 + EE 20 SMD2

Series EE SMD2 with longer creepagedimensions

Separate winding on and soldering CB-sides allow automatic winding and soldering of the wires. Wetting of the contact area to the PCB with tin in the process is excluded. Now in preparation are single and double section version coilformers with different numbers of pin connections. Pick an Place Caps allow automatic board assembly. They are designed to fit the top of the flanges of the coilformers via a snap-on facility.

SMD2 coilformer series EE 5 to EE 20 are enlarged with longer creepagedimensions between ferrite and solder-pin. The surface mountable coilformers have solid U-shaped terminals.

Series EE horizontal with longer creepagedimensions

NORWE now is preparing to expand he series of EE/M coilformers horizontal EE 12.6 to EE 25 with longer creepage-dimensions between ferrite and solder-pin.

The design allows automatic winding also on NC winding machines. Special winding noses and also a wire routing provide tension-relief when binding on the wire. The coilformers have distance strips to avoid cold-solder joints into the PCB.

NORWE now is preparing to expand he series of EE/M coilformers vertical EE 12.6 to EE 25 with longer creepagedimensions between ferrite and solder-pin.

ETD lr coilformers for litz-wire

The ETD lr coilformers is a new design from NORWE. They feature a reduced weight and also a minimized overall hight.

Extended to the version with solder-pins a special litz-solder-tag allow the binding of thick wires or litz-wires. Optional the solder-tag can be mounted 90° rotated (version 2) for special requirements.

Large SMD2 EP Coilformers

The surface mountable components are market driven enlarged with two additional large volume orientated sizes - EP 17 and EP 20. The coilformers have solid U-shaped terminals. Separate winding on and soldering pcb-sides allow - compared with conventional SMD-technologies - automatic winding and soldering of the wires. Wetting of the contact area to the pcb with tin in the process is excluded.

The spring-action Snap-on Cap allows a more advantageous and quick assembly of the SMD-coilformers with the cores in their correct positioning. The caps have openings at the sides which allows additional glueing. They have a smooth top and can be used for Pick and Place.

SMD - Miniboxes

The horizontal toroid potting boxes of type fw and LP are up to date - they are essential within the constant growing demand on surface mount mini devices. The boxes with the terminal type fw ensure a defined distance between potting box and pcb during the further processing. The winding on / soldering section of the terminals is accessible from the outside, they are easily positioned and the solderability and electrical tests are possible.

The boxes with connecting type LP have no metal terminals. Wires are connected to integrated plastic feets. The bind-on points of the wire are fixed in one of the v-shaped slots of the plastic feet for wrapping and provide the connecting to the pcb. These soldering points should be brushed blank before positioning to the pcb.

PQ 16 to PQ 50 Coilformers with Solder-Pins

The very interesting PQ-Series provides maximum power output with a minimum requirement on weight and volume. The NORWE PQ-Series with vertical magnetic axis uses only a small area on the pcb. The coilformers are suitable for automatic winding on computer controlled machines.

The pins are dual-in-line. Binding-on of the wire is axial, and tension relieved by routing around the plastic "noses". The coilformers have plastic "stand-offs" to avoid cold-solder joints into the pcb.

H-RG SMD Potting Boxes with Four-Side-Pinning

The potting boxes are for surface mounting, as is common f.e. with filter chokes and ISDN transformers. The erminal type fw ensures a defined distance between potting box and pcb.

The binding-on / soldering section of the terminal is accessible from the outsite, the feet are easily positioned and electrical tests are possible.

PC-SMD 4.6 x 3.1 Connecting Board

The coils in pot-core assemblies are almost totally enclosed by the ferrite cores, resulting in low leakage and low electromagnetic interference. The integral terminals and channels for routing the wires allow fully automated winding on NC-winding machines.

For the design A 4.6 x 3.1 now in preparations is a gull-wing version (fm, SMD1) and a U-shaped solder-pin version (fu, SMD2).

The AEO certificate - Authorised Economic Operator - is a European certificate for globally worldwide active companies in all sectors of industry across all 27 EU countries which is issued by the relevant Ministries for Finance based on very strict criteria. Finance based on very strict criteria.

Reliability is assessed on the basis of the criteria of "compliance with customs regulations, satisfactory accounts systems, solvency, reliability and compliance with legal requirements and, where applicable, reasonable safety standards".

PPS Torelina A504X90 instead of PPS Ryton R-4

At present, the situation on the market for thermoplastic engineering polymers is generally very tight - currently for PPS (polyphenylene sulphide) - so that an uninterrupted supply can no longer be assured. Specifically for this material, there are not sufficient procurement options at the moment.

With Torelina (torA504), we can offer a comparable high-temperature PPS material. The production of our standard components (including the entire range of NORWE SMD components) has already been converted, in order to ensure long-term deliverability again. All sales literature will soon be adapted to reflect the conversion.

NORWE QR-Code

It is no longer possible to imagine communications without QR-Code (Quick Response). Modern mobile phones and PDAs have a built-in camera and software to allow the interpretation of a QR-Code. What is known as Mobile Tagging allows fast, uncomplicated recording of information.

Normally, a QR-Code is a coded depiction of a web address. But as well as URLs, a QR-Code can also contain telephone numbers, addresses, data or text. They can be saved with a single click and can be used in all sorts of different ways.
